  2. When you add a card and start a session, a small pre-authorized hold will be placed on your account; this is a temporary charge that will be removed later.
  3. Once your card is added and authorized, you can you can hit "Start Session" in the mobile app or web app or tap your RFID card to initiate charging.

How to add a payment method

How pre-authorizations work

  • When you add a new credit card as your payment method, we’ll initiate a small pre-authorization fee, which will be released within a few days. If the pre-authorization fails, the payment method will not be added, and you will be notified to check the card information you entered.

No pre-authorization charge will be applied when updating an existing credit card on your account .

We accept the following currencies only: CAD, USD, JMP, DOP, GBP, EUR, JPY, CNY, HKD, INR and BBD.
  • When you start a charging session by plugging in a charger and tapping “Start Charge,” or through authentication via RFID or auto-start on a paid charger, a temporary pre-authorized hold will be placed on your card.

If the charging fails to start after a successful pre-authorization hold, the hold will be maintained for reuse on other charging attempts within the next 4 hours. If no session is started within 4 hours, the hold will be released.

If the pre-authorization fails, your charging session will not start. You will be notified to add a valid payment method and will receive a email and SMS notification of the failure.
  • The pre-auth amount should appear as “processing” or “pending” in your account, depending on your bank.

After your session, if the total is less than the pre-authorized amount, the total will be deducted from the amount held, and the remainder will be returned to you.

If your session total exceeds the pre-authorized amount, the hold will be canceled, and you will be charged separately for the total amount.
